Shahid Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Institute was founded as an educational, research, and treatment facility with 300 beds in 1970. Its educational and research capacities have expanded, and the number of available beds has risen to more than 570. This center is affiliated with the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Training and Iran University of Medical Sciences, and is run on a non-profit basis.

Shahid Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Institute has a strong commitment to the community. This commitment has fueled the hospital's growth, energized its staff, satisfied its patients, and helped it become one of the most dynamic and dedicated centers in the Middle East. Today, this center employs more than 2000 staff members, making it the largest cardiovascular center in Iran and the region.

High academic standards are ensured through close liaison with major European and American academic centers. Over the course of the twenty-first century, great strides have been made in the struggle against coronary artery disease, the root cause of heart attacks and sudden coronary events. A more effective system must be created to apply the prevention strategies already available. At the turn of the millennium, the development of powerful scientific and clinical tools continues, and SRCMRC will deliver on both fronts.

We provide cardiac care not only for Iranian patients, but also for patients referred from neighboring countries.

Many adult, pediatric, and interventional cardiologists, as well as cardiac surgeons and electrophysiologists, have trained at this center over the past four decades. This ongoing educational program is also available for foreign students receiving scholarships.
