Laboratories

This part of the research center has been equipped with an ABI 3500 Sequencer since 2016. Since 2018, this laboratory has provided sequencing services to numerous academic and research centers in the country. Researchers and students from universities throughout Iran also use the sequencing services of this center.

Given that this laboratory is equipped with up-to-date equipment, it is now able to provide services to researchers inside and outside the center. The karyotype test was re-launched in 2022.

Molecular Cell and Basic Heart Research Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with a cell culture room, biomarker assay section, gene expression analysis section including DNA extraction, RNA extraction, real-time PCR, and immunohistochemistry.

Since 2018, it has provided many scientific and research services to other academic centers and has held training workshops for faculty members, general practitioners, and medical science students.

In the cell culture section, 9 research projects have been carried out on HUVEC, VEC, PBMC, and Mesenchymal cells, in collaboration with centers including Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tarbiat Modares University, Shahid Beheshti University, and Islamic Azad University.

Immunohistochemical techniques have been set up for CD31, CD34, smooth muscle alpha-actin, and von Willebrand factor. In 2012, cloning setups, MTT, and RNA sequencing were launched in this laboratory.

Laboratory Capabilities

This laboratory held workshops on DNA extraction methods and PCR types and RNA extraction methods and Real-time PCR types in 2022, which were well received by students and researchers inside and outside the center.

In 2022, the center launched laboratory techniques including MTT and cloning, as well as bioinformatics services for RNA sequencing data analysis.
