Congenital Heart Disease Research Center

Research Center Overview

The Congenital Heart Disease Research Center operates with the aim of producing, developing and promoting knowledge in the field of congenital heart disorders across all age groups, including infants, children, adolescents and adults with structural congenital heart diseases.

Its mission aligns with improving public health and offering scientific, diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive solutions. Utilizing modern technologies, conducting basic and applied research, training specialized personnel, and collaborating with national and international institutions, the center seeks to become a reputable hub for congenital heart disease research at national and regional levels.

The center was founded by five members and received official approval for establishment within the Shahid Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Institute on February 23, 2023 (1401/12/04 in the Iranian calendar).

Objectives of the Center

• Enhancing the quantity and quality of the center's research activities
• Producing and publishing articles in reputable national and international scientific journals

• Organizing workshops, seminars and scientific conferences at national and international levels
• Developing a patient data registry system and creating a comprehensive database
• Promoting interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in congenital heart diseases
• Designing and formulating evidence-based clinical guidelines for the management of these patients
• Establishing mechanisms to financially support priority research projects
• Increasing educational capacity for training young researchers in related fields
• Translating research outcomes into practical technologies
