Here within the Shaheed Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center, four different pharmacies including Central inpatient, Outpatient or ambulary pharmacy, Emergency pharmacy and finally surgery wards pharmacy are operated.
Each of pharmacists and technicians are committed to putting Patients First. The main focus is on delivering quick and accurate prescription services while educating patients on the importance of their medication therapy. The emergency Pharmacy department provides twenty-four hour inpatient and outpatient services through central and specialty pharmacies.
The Central inpatient pharmacy employs some of the best technology and automation in the industry such as Laminar Air Flow system within clean room for sterile parenteral preparation, allowing the pharmacist to focus on patient care and physician support. This team is centered on providing prescription products, compounds, complementary over-the-counter supplies, while also providing drug information to patients and providers. The central pharmacy also enjoys internet prescription approval system facilitating third party prescription payment.
The pharmacies continue to grow in size and output every year filling nearly 800,000 prescriptions. They consistently produce a positive financial contribution while achieving greater than 95% patient satisfaction scores.
The Shaheed Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center outpatient Pharmacy is located on the main floor of the hospital and is ready to assist with patient prescription and over-the-counter medication needs. The outpatient Pharmacy enjoys automatic calling system

Specialty services within Cardiac surgery operational theaters requires an independent surgery wards pharmacy. For daily operational medication needs.
All 4 pharmacies are fed through a huge inventory depot which is unique in Middle East.

The pharmaceutical department in Shaheed Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center enjoys daily drug information consulting services, Antibiotic Stewardship Surveillance Program and Medication error monitoring as well as clinical trial investigational drugs proposal and controlled substance drug distribution. Clinical pharmacists are involved in educational as well as research programs.
