The emergency department of Shaheed Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center is not only one of the crucial wards in the center but also it is the beating heart of the center. This department has been designed to enhance every aspect of the patient-centered care experience. The emergency services at Shaheed Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week. ED provides services for both self-referred people and those who are brought in by ambulance. Moreover, over 63651 adult and pediatric patients are treated annually. Over 20% of all in patient’s admission begin in ED.

In the emergency department many cardiologists and fellows are always available.

Due to, high rate of patients and admitted patients, everyone admires the role of the ward. The emergency ward has one triage room, two electrocardiography rooms for men and women separately, four examination rooms, two echo rooms, one CPR room, thirteen under observation beds for adults, children, and one isolated room. Approximately, 190 patients are admitted to the ward each day. It provides valuable service for patients who require a short period of observation and recovery before they can safely be discharged. However patients who admitted to the main center are generally sent to a ward within the SRCMRC as soon as possible.

In order to have better service for patients a CCU with 20 beds dedicated for emergent cardiac patients and Cath Lab, imaging service and X.Ray and CT is adjacent to ED.
