Pediatric Cardiology Department
The Pediatric Cardiology Department of Shaheed Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center was established in 1970. Since then, it has been a pioneer in educational, treatment, and research services, and is recognized nationally for care of heart diseases in children and teenagers.
With 138 patient beds and daily clinics, this department has proven to be one of the largest and best-equipped centers in the region for children's heart disease services.

Advanced Educational Programs
In addition to the core fellowship course for Pediatric Cardiology, the department offers advanced educational programs in the following fields:
Fellowship of Pediatric Interventional Cardiology
This field was developed in 2007 for the first time in Iran, and graduates are introduced each year to the country's medical society.
Pediatric Electrophysiology
Developed in Iran for the first time in 2008; this department is the only academic center in the country conducting Pediatric Electrophysiology.
Fetal Echocardiography
Academic teaching of fetal echocardiography was first organized in 2008. The department can diagnose heart defects in early weeks of pregnancy.
Pediatric Transesophageal Echocardiography
Academic teaching was first organized in 2008, enabling transesophageal echocardiography during congenital cardiac surgeries and interventions.
Pediatric Heart Failure and Transplant
This field was developed in 2012 and has been successful in managing heart failure and transplanted patients.
