Echocardiography Laboratory
Echocardiography Laboratory Overview
Echocardiography lab of Shaheed Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center is a fully equipped non-invasive cardiac imaging department. It is the first and largest fully equipped echo lab in Iran and one of the largest in the Middle East. It started working in 2001 as a separate independent ward.
The aim of the echo department is to serve all patients in the best way and to reduce the burden of heart disease in the country.

Advanced Procedures
Advanced echocardiography modalities and procedures are performed by experienced faculty members who are expert in cardiac imaging and training echocardiography fellows.
Trans thoracic echocardiography (TTE)
Trans esophageal echocardiography (TEE)
Stress echocardiography
3D echocardiography
Tissue and strain imaging
Coronary flow reserve and CRT optimization
All exams are supervised and reported by faculty members. Intraoperative TEE, sometimes epicardial echocardiography, and 2D-3D TTE and TEE in cath lab or EP lab during interventional procedures are also among the most advanced echocardiography exams.
Service Scope & Training
Portable and non-portable echo vendors are placed in all medical, surgical and emergency wards. They are used for TTE to provide good service for bedside, elective pre-procedural, post-procedural and emergent echocardiography.
Echocardiography lab of SRCMRC is the largest training department for echocardiography fellows, with a huge body of common, usual and rare cases including congenital, ischemic, valvular, pericardial and myocardial heart diseases.

Research & Collaboration
The echo lab has a dedicated research center with an enormous database and ongoing and published research in prestigious national and international journals. The ward works in close relationship with operating rooms, cath lab, EP lab, CMR, CT angiography and other diagnostic and procedural departments.
