Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Department

The ACHD program offers comprehensive medical, interventional and surgical care. The department consists of a multidisciplinary team of experienced congenital heart disease specialists for patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) who have transitioned to adulthood.

The department includes the full range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, surgery, cardiac imaging such as CMR and CTA, electrophysiology services and more.

Surgical care coordinated by congenital heart disease specialists.

Electrophysiology services for rhythm-related care.

Patient Counseling

Guidance about medication, marriage, family planning and psychological support.

The specialists help adult patients with ACHD understand their heart condition, learn about their medications, and receive information about marriage and family planning. Psychological counseling is also available for patients who need mental health support.

Training Program

This department accepts several cardiologists yearly for an eighteen-month fellowship period in this field and also provides short training courses for cardiology residents.
