Pharmacy Department Operations and Services
At Shaheed Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center, 4 different pharmacies are operated: Central Inpatient Pharmacy, Outpatient or Ambulatory Pharmacy, Emergency Pharmacy, and Surgery Wards Pharmacy.
Pharmacists and technicians are committed to putting patients first. Their main focus is delivering quick and accurate prescription services while educating patients on the importance of medication therapy. The Emergency Pharmacy provides 24-hour inpatient and outpatient services through central and specialty pharmacies.

Greater than 95% patient satisfaction scores

Central Inpatient Pharmacy & Technology
The Central Inpatient Pharmacy employs advanced technology and automation, such as the Laminar Air Flow system within a clean room for sterile parenteral preparation. This allows pharmacists to focus on patient care and physician support.
This team provides prescription products, compounds, complementary over-the-counter supplies, and drug information for patients and providers. The central pharmacy also uses an internet prescription approval system to facilitate third-party prescription payment.
The Outpatient Pharmacy is located on the main floor of the hospital and assists with prescription and over-the-counter medication needs. It also uses an automatic calling system. Patients with prescriptions from the center's doctors' clinics may use this pharmacy.
Specialty services within cardiac surgery operating theaters require an independent Surgery Wards Pharmacy for daily operational medication needs. All 4 pharmacies are supplied through a large inventory depot, which is unique in the Middle East.
